Nutworks is a processor of nuts, confectionary, dried fruits and oils based at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast. They work alongside major distributors, retailers and various food-service providers tailoring products and ranges to their given needs.
Nutworks needed a suite of packaging designs and product innovation for new and existing opportunities with major retailers and tourism specialty distributors. With briefs that had to meet multiple audiences, positioning strategies and applications, we relished the opportunities we were given to flex our packaging skills.
What we did:
We introduced Nutworks to the importance of brand messaging, product packaging design & development, and their function in meeting strategic goals. This had applications in developing brand stories, design & packaging concepts, rationalised proposals, packaging innovation, on & offshore manufacturing sourcing and materials & finish selection advice. We worked closely with key staff to tailor solutions to the given market requirements they were presented with.
We helped Nutworks generate a back story that gave credence to the value of the products they sell. This was used to leverage credible messages inherent in the product offerings to position Nutworks ranges no matter the application.
We developed retail products positioned with boutique providers right through to FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) markets. By providing product designs and point of sale support material (signage, bay droppers), we addressed specific demographic and price positions that met both the needs of the retailers and their customer..
Tourism / Gift Products
Tourism gifts had become a stagnant and cliche homogenisation of landmarks and kangaroos. We were asked to develop a range of products that still relied on these Australian icons presenteded in an elegant fashion that would demand a higher purchase price. Focusing on artistic elements, lead to many viable variations and an innovative concept we developed in house tailored to engaging and introducing young children to vitamin rich nuts.
Products that sold. Through these services and products we helped Nutworks:
- elevate their brand position
- communicate the value of their products
- not just retain shelf presence (that were to be deleted), but expand their range within Woolworths
- increase the perceived product value and as a result sell price
- secure contracts with major distributors, especially in the Woolworths and duty free sector
- product innovation to broaden product appeal across larger age range
A notable success was repositioning an existing product as a premium boxed range increasing the sell price by a minimum of 400%.
